Text Box: Three ladies who determined to walk to raise funds for Blake Lodge. Sandra Downie, Elizabeth Sly and Debra May with two supporters, Alison Kevern and Louise Mitchell who joined us at the last minute to walk about 5 miles from Blake Lodge on Sunday 1st June. The gentlemen were not able to support the ladies as they have unfinished jobs at Blake Lodge. A most likely excuse for not walking with the ladies! The ladies walked all the way to Barbican and sat at outdoor cafe to rest our feet for a lunch, then a refreshing breeze along the Hoe, a quick Text Box: coffee break at West Hoe café, unfortunately the grey clouds were spreading across from the sights of the Breakwater. The ladies decided to trot on towards the city centre walking towards Mutley Plain and stopping at Hyde Park Tavern for a quick drink and catch our breath. Our Chairman searched the group in his car and checked us if any assistance needed. Not likely said the ladies! They weary group arrived Blake Lodge at 4 pm with a claps and cheers from the gentlemen. Approx £200 were raised towards our Text Box: On Sunday 3rd August, a group of 22 brave volunteers worked hard around Blake Lodge to tidy up the garden during heavy showers. It was bit over grown and a tree in the right corner of the garden was cut down to give a better view from the sun lounge and a brighter light at the chapel. The lawn was mowed to keep the grass down.
A hedgehog was found among the bushes, and was located to different area. Thanks to few members who cooked a beautiful lunch and puddings to feed the hungry members who Text Box: Volume 1, Issue 3
