Audrey Pollitt

The first to race back in 1970 was my Mother, Audrey Pollitt. Audrey was given the opportunity to borrow the car used by my Fathers friend Alan Reece. Audrey used the Riley Pathfinder for one of the first Ladies races held at the Mike Parker tracks.

Audrey Pollitt is pictured here on the right, before this first race, and eventually resulted in a 3rd place finish.

Later that year , following the start of my Fathers racing using a Mini, Audrey was more succesful using a car she was more familiar with. Above shows her first win at the Salford Albion Stadium.

Audrey went on to win many races at Salford , Stoke, White City, Nelson and Rochdale. The picture below shows a win at White City Stadium in Manchester. One of her biggest gripes over her racing career was that on some occasions she only recieved a bouquet of flowers as against the prefferred Trophy.
