Rebel racing

It was in 2006 that the Stock Car bug raised its head again. I was keen to get my sons interested in a hobby that we could all share and I wanted them to experience all that I had learnt as a child. It seemed like the obvious choice. I needed to find a formula that I could manage without all the help I had recieved from my father now that we are without him.

I had seen the rebels when the were launched some years back, but I hadn't seen them race since then. I decided on the option to hire one for a race meeting, which was enough to convince me that I could manage with minimal help. It was a matter of weeks later that I purchased the Steve Shaw car and ready to go again.

The first seasons were a difficult time. All three of us had some learning to do but when the car was put into the Rebels workshop for chassis check, it was Rebel Designer Hans that confirmed that the car was drastically out of line. Hans did his magic before the start of the 2008 season and it made a phenominal difference. The results improved and the first award of the season was for runner up in the Spring Nationals.
