Bed bug - Cimex lectularius L.

The bed bug shown here is the flattened empty shell, a 5mm long oval with a small head, six well developed legs and a taste for blood! The slide was the favourite of the children of Milton Primary School at a microscopy demonstration, presumably for its yuk factor! Cover picture of Balsam Post, issue 27, April 1995.
