Knot in post wood

A good scanner can work as a low power microscope. The above brush painting is of a square post section about 2 x 2 cm which was scanned in and then enlarged. I just loved the regular patterning of the annual growth rings. Balsam Post cover, issue No. 55, April 2002, printed on yellow paper.
