About the Powysland Club

Programme 2004

Each year, the Club arranges a series of

approximately six lectures between September and May. These are held at various centres within the old county of Montgomeryshire. During the summer months there are usually three one-day excursions to places of historical interest in the area. Details will be posted as they become available

PLEASE NOTE: THE SPEAKERS FOR THE LECTURES FOR 19TH MARCH & 16TH APRIL HAVE BEEN REVERSED FROM THE PUBLISHED PROGRAMME. THE REARRANGED PROGRAMME IS AS FOLLOWS:

Saturday 19th March 2005 at the Church House, Welshpool. The late 19C/early 20 C photographs of Montgomeryshire by J.B.Willans of Kerry by David Pugh.

Saturday 16th April 2005 at the Community Centre, Abermule. Vernacular wall paintings of the 16th and 17th C in the Welsh Marches by Dr Kathryn Davies.

Saturday 14th May 2005 at the Community Centre, Tregynon. What the Victorians left for us. The Medieval Churches of Montgomeryshire by R.J.Silvester.
