Layered Historic Map
A guide to historic sites from pre-history to the early middle ages. This section is a starter set of about 120 pages from a long-term project to identify, photograph and discuss the many early historic sites in this area. Includes prehistoric and roman sites, dykes, castle sites, other earthworks, a couple of battlefields and many old churches. The main map links to over 250 local sites of historical interest. There is also a detailed section about the Hindwell Valley near New Radnor. It is hoped that a completed version of this work will be available on a CDROM in the near future. This will include a look at how the latest theories on prehistoric societies relate to what we have around here. If you have any additional information on any sites included or not please send it to me on the above email link. 800 x 600 screen resolution 1024 x 762 screen resolution |
