Die Promethean is a pompous, pretentious piece of waffle. The magazine itself consists of articles by contributors who are, surprise surprise, white, middle class university students; but who, nevertheless, believe that the proletariat revolution will one day rise and overcome their present and future oppressors - like white, middle class university students...(?)

Die Promethean shall not pander to the type of contributor who wishes to advance their future careers with lofty C.V's. Therefore each written article shall carry descriptive of the name, address, course currently future aspirations of each and every contributor.

Die Promethean is a forum for cultural debate and discussion. Die Promethean is not an elitist organ. Unfortunately the talents of the contributors contained are needed to combat the current state of philistinism rampant throughout this university.

Die Promethean is modernist and proud of it. Although if anybody would like to contribute a piece on Postmodernism the editors may well decide on a change of policy.

Die Promethean is a form of intellectual therapy to the stagnation of university course work.

Die Promethean is bloody radical. Die Promethean suggests a new and highly disruptive form of agitation: either compose a very strongly worded letter to "The Times"; or write to your local M.P., but remember. to always exercise worded courtesy. Of course if you fancy a bit of anarchism then join the Student Executive.

Above all Die Promethean is a serious venture into ideas and a none too serious break with a university existence that can, on occasion, take life far too seriously.
