What is it?
Firstly, this is not an ACG event. Alan is the main organising force behind it, but is very clear that it will not be an ACG sales pitch.
It’s just a good fun, relaxed bass bash in the borders of Scotland.
As you might expect, many of the guys who know Alan bring along their ACG basses, so it’s a great place to check them out if you want.
We say that it’s all about bass guitars on the Sunday, but let’s be honest, it’s mainly about enjoying a curry over a few pints on the Saturday night...not to mention having a great laugh.

Next day, we all head up to the hall, which is walking distance from the B&B, and spend the day nursing any hangovers, and trying out all sorts of bass gear.
Alan has secured the B&B for each of us (as long as you have sent the payment to him, of course!) Alternatively, if you just want to come along on the Sunday, that’s cool.
Please bring along whatever bass gear you want, including amps and cabs, so we can all get our grubby mitts on them, and try stuff out that would otherwise never be available under one roof.
Last time we had 70+ basses; all of outstanding quality. It was a really great collection.

This time, in addition to the main theatre room downstairs, there will also be a second room upstairs dedicated to just basses and a few mixing desks and headphones so you can try them out without the usual thump thump of loud bass gear.
We will also have free tea and coffee available on the Sunday in the Hall entrance foyer along with the traditional home made cakes......awesome
Head to the main theatre room to try out the amp/cabs or to be entertained by the drummer caged into the corner, or just jam along with our great guitar player, Shaun. The good thing about this is that you can get up for jam, or try out a specific bit of kit in a band environment to see how it performs, or simply sit back and watch others make a bit of noise. There’s no pressure to do anything other than enjoy the weekend.

Instead of having a specific bass player to talk for an hour or so as in previous years, we have decided to provide a more structured program for the set list and run that side of things as a more interactive event after lunch. Its going to be a full on BASSYOKEY
Over the next few weeks we are going to be compiling a large list of songs for people to look over and learn if they fancy doing a song or two with the band.
We will sort out a 'set list' running order before hand and Dave Perry will be organising this side of things.
