Beers- Adnams Broadside, Grenne King IPA, Wells Bombardier plus Beck's German lager on draught and Budvar in small and large bottles

Telephone-020-7359-0851

Pub close to Camden Passage Antique market, which is well used by the stall holders and their customers. While the décor is traditional, with some nice acid-etched windows bearing the pub's name, and horseshoe bar, it's also noisy with fruit machines and the TV. To be fair most of the regulars don't seem to notice. Nice regular pub to go to. Must be one of the few pubs in London, still selling Budvar in big brown bottles.

While in the N1 postcode, this pub is in Dalston, rather than Islington. (Dalston junction station is only 5 minutes walk away). The pub is done out in gastro pub style, but has a traditional pub feel to it, with a island bar, chandeliers, fire and a back room with comfy sofas. The outside pub sign of the Duke of Wellington with a Watney, Combe and Reid logo above it-shows a sign of previous ownership. There are three real ales on, all from micro breweries. The Sambrooks Wandle Ale was £3.30 a pint. The pub has its 4th real ale festival on 27/01/11. Nice pub with a nice laid-back ‘Sunday lunch’ atmosphere. Opens 1500 hours Monday to Friday.

Back street local off the City Road. The pub is run by three Camra members so it's traditionally run, with a good choice of beers, as you might expect. Which makes up for the very average décor. The industrial units across the road are being knock down, to make way for yuppie housing. The beers are on a blackboard in the corner. New yuppie flats being built outside, not a bad pub to have as your local.

Duke of Cambridge, 30 St Peter's Street, London N1 8JT A certified organic pub with everything from beer, wine soft drinks and food 100% organic. It has a nice laid-back Belgian café feel to it. The beers from the local Pitfield brewery were good. . My only problem with this place is the prices-£3.00 for a pint ( there is no different between the price of ale and lager ) and even more for food. Still in this part of yuppie Islington they probably think they're getting a bargain!. Wine seems more popular than beer with the clientele

Cosy décor, including red carpet, rose wallpaper and old prints and books. Not too busy with commuters at the time of my visit. Five beers are on gravity, which is rare for London. Real ales were £3.30 a pint; there are discounts for Camra members of 50p a pint. All the beers were dark at the time of my visit. Now Doric Arch is owned by Fullers, this is the pub for Euston commuters who like micro brews.

Formerly The Head of Steam  which offered 10 real ales from smaller micros, so the chances are you might find a beer you never drank before (or again! ) Now owned by Fullers with a new name Doric Arch, so not to be confused with the other Head of Steam pubs around the country. Still the same décor, but a little bit of its buzz is missing.  You need a code from the bar staff to visit the loos! Less beer choice with each visit. Butcombe Bitter was £3.35

New pub opened in November 2010 in a small square stone building, which looks like Marble Arch! One of the best beer ranges in London, with beers from the hard to find Brew Dog and Thornbridge from the UK and Mahrs from Bamberg and Anchor Steam from the US, to name just a few. There are no mainstream beers here, so it is a beer lover’s delight. The real ale is not served by handpump, but by air pressure. Some of the beers are reasonably priced, some are not-you make your choices! A small place: there is room and comfortable seats upstairs, where the one unisex toilet is! That’s right girls-not only do you have to share, but there is no going to the loo in twos!! A beer mirror with the pubs name on it is above the bar. The food is outside pizza. Nice place, but I wonder if it’s so nice on a busy Friday and Saturday night!

As with the Hamilton Hall in Liverpool Street Station, this is a building with which Wetherspoons has done wonders. Huge light blue ceiling with the Metropolitan Railways emblems, as well as other emblems. Blue walls, wooden columns and dim lighting makes for a nice grand place. Pubs often reflect their surrounding areas. This pub is a traditional Hampstead local, a favourite with the Hampstead's rich arty crowd who like a pint in a traditional pub. Unspoilt public bar (rare for the area ), lounge with nice pictures as you go in, wood panelling and acid-etched glass all make this a great pub with a lot of character. A restaurant at the back seems to be under-used by drinkers. Good friendly atmosphere.

Reputedly the oldest pub in Hampstead. Large back-street local with a good range of beers. There are three different drinking areas; on the left hand side is a non-smoking section, in the middle is a lively locals' area with pictures of actors on the wall, and on the right side is a sports screen which is not too loud. A few malt whiskies are behind the bar. It all makes for a good atmosphere; very under-rated pub.

The sign on the outside says Real ale and Cider House, and it does what it says on the tin! With 10 real ales and 6 real ciders from small independent breweries, at reasonable prices for London (£2.90 a pint for real ale and £3.20 a pint for cider) this cracking place is a beer lovers’ (and tickers’) dream! With the lager from the local Camden Town everything comes from a small brewery. The pub décor is small and narrow, with a titled wall behind the bar and lots of old wood, white walls, and brewery mirrors. The décor and atmosphere reminds me of a Dutch brown café. Some nice individual touches including no TV, no fruit machine, only real money, piano nights on Wednesday and old record turntable at the bar with vinyl records, but mainly the pub is all about good beer. There is a small beer garden at the back. Lots of people would give their right arms to have a local like this!  This pub goes straight into my top ten pubs in London.

To go with the traditional feel of the place, the pub serves a good choice of beers and has a good cosy atmosphere. Wood panelled walls with various pictures and photos. Pub is close to Pinner tube station.

Visited this pub once at 19-30 on a Thursday night and it was very crowded; reasonable beer prices, and the pub's curry evening might have something to do with it! Unusual Wetherspoon décor, some nice posters of the original houses built here in the 1930s. Not a Wetherspoon which is in the town centre, but there are lots of takeaways near this pub. The friendly staff and locals make this pub a good place to visit. This part of London deserves a good pub.
