Small lively pub which was very crowded at the time of visit due to a rugby international on TV. Nice choice of seafood like prawns and interesting mirrors and painting on the walls. Evening Standard pub of the year in 2000 which might explain why it's a little expensive, but a good choice of beers. Best visited weekday lunchtimes.

John 8/10 visit Mar 2008

Distinctive narrow pub. 50% of the pub is devoted to food . Very expensive seafood menu. Seafood platter for 2 £45. Tiny kitchen right in the bar and was Evening Standard pub of the year recently. The toilets are downstairs - good photo gallery on the way. The landlord and clientele looked Eastern Mediterranean and when the food was cooking the smoke filled the place. We could have been transported to somewhere on mainland Europe!

Pub in Paddington station. Modern neon front. Inside two contrasting drinking areas. The non-smoking area has a wood-panelled ceiling, nice carpet, prints and wooden chairs. A little like a Wetherspoons pub. The smoking area has a wooden floor, high chairs, mirrors, a big chandelier which gives out a lot of light, and a impressive ceiling. Good introduction for people from the West Country ( and from the Heathrow Express ) to Fullers beers. Best station pub in London.

Very handy Fullers outlet situated in the new glass building at the back of the platforms. Although modern it has a good range of beers on tap and screens on which to watch the arrivals and departures. Plenty of seating but often busy.

Riverside pub which is perfect for a summer's evening even if it does get a little crowded. Nice wood panelling around the bar area, red ceiling and old prints around the wall. Towards the river are some nice conservatories which look out onto the footpath and the River Thames. Friendly bar service and a small non-smoking area. Beer was excellent.

John 9.5/10 visit Feb 2005

I do not award a 10 lightly ( cue Bo Derek jokes, John ) this is the first in 5 passports! This pub is one which I have visited many times and always left feeling happy and relaxed. It is lovely in the summer, when you can sit in the conservatory area or on the patio by the Thames, or in the winter when you can sit in the rear part of the pub ( which is well decorated and very comfortable ) or the 'downstairs' conservatory adjoining the river. Today there is a flood tide and the water is covering the bank at an alarming rate! There is always something new at this pub and it fulfils all I could wish!

Pub opposite Ealing film studios. Full of people coming in for a quiet pint of well-kept beer; place has a cosy intimate atmosphere. If you are bored you can always look at the pictures of the TV stars ( mainly from 60s shows ) who appeared at the studios. The pub has now expanded about the back, still my last visit. The pub has the same character, just more room. As well as more Ealing studios memorabilia. Great pub.

John 9.5/10 visit May 2008

Whilst this is a very interesting pub, with strong links to the Ealing studios and photos on the walls of old stars and a 'stage 6' sign outside suggesting this link, the pub is too small and although on this occasion we were able to get a seat, I remember many times when it was very crowded. Used it in 'Passport to Pimlico', my favourite Ealing comedy. Pretty bar area, but really just too small for my liking.

Pub in a quite cul-de-sac near St Mary's church, pub has a almost rural feel to it despite being off the busy St Mary's Road. Pub is now a one bar pub, with a nicely done out lounge, which leads to a conservatory and on to a large beer garden. Reasonably priced food menu. Well hidden pub, well worth finding.

John 8.5/10 visit May 2008

This pub was a much-loved local in the 1980s and I always like to visit. A new conservatory area has now been added, with wicker chairs and pretty flowered drapes. Plants suspect fakes, I fear! Interior of the pub still the same. Cosy and welcoming, with stained glass windows and dark wood. Disliked piped music- a bad addition- I'm sure it wasn't there before. But, overall, still a very mouse-like pub!

Magnificent old riverside pub built in 1795. Pub has the atmosphere of a smugglers inn on the South West coast. There's only a small terrace overlooking the River Thames and Hammersmith Bridge; if you can't get a seat then admire the inside of the pub. The pub is small and can get crowded in the evening - the best time to visit is between 15-00 and 17-00 hours on a weekday. I find this pub very bewitching; I can never have just one pint here and wind up staying a lot longer. A personal favourite. Fullers London Pride was £3.45 a pint.

John 10/10 visit Aug 2011

I don't know if I love or hate this pub! I do hate it when it's crowded like tonight! But I remember happier times in the past when it has been more peaceful and I've looked at the moon shining on the river. The pub is full of memories. Oh, I don’t know!

Sue 9/10 visit Aug 1996

Brilliant Thames-side pub which is steeped in history. Go down a narrow alley to get to it. Inside it's really cosy with a small front and side bar and a larger room to the rear. On warm day, sit outside on the patio and watch the rowers slide past. No serious London drinker should miss this one. It does great food. The interior has not been modernised and it probably looked like this during the war! I remember the war NOT!

Mosaic steps lead up to a classic pub with nice stained glass mirrors, red upholstery and a nice marble bar. Nice staircase leads up to a Thai restaurant which was allegedly a brothel at the turn of the 1900s. Nice atmosphere, but can get a little crowded at the weekend. Pub has a public bar which, while not as nice as the lounge, is worthwhile going into if it's too. No longer owned by Gordon Ramsay Holdings, but décor is still the same. Which is good news. Adnams Explorer was £3.70 a pint.

Big pub that has a large saloon bar with catenary lighting above. They must have lost a few punters down the precipitous staircase to the gents. The ladies have an easier time here, as they are upstairs! The public bar to the left is also large and comfortable. The bar has lights like you used to find on the escalators in the underground in the 1950's. It also has the TV. We noticed a nice wall painting by the main door. For the hungry there is a Thai restaurant as well.

Near West Ealing Station, off the busy Uxbridge Road.

John 8.5/10 visit May 2008

The building is lovely, eccentric, with the 'gothic-looking' towers one finds in this part of Ealing. I have down-marked a little because of the dingy interior - this pub has not been touched since I last came in here many years ago, and the clientele seems to have 'gone down' a little. Lighting needs improvement, but stills has lots of character.

Pretty pub but a little crowded, with 'fuzzy' background music. The family room should be smaller, as it was virtually unused, and the pub needs more room. Nice stained glass windows and panels in the screen dividers. Nice warm feeling to the pub, with glowing red and brown colour schemes. Nice, but not, I think, with too much atmosphere.

Large pub which has a traditional exterior. The Interior is half castro-pub and half traditional, so you can make your choice. The food menu is on the blackboard. The décor is pleasant but nothing you haven't seen before. Good choice of 7 real ales, but a standard choice of beers. Traders fair outside in Cross Strret this Saturday. Twickenham film studios is across the road, and the pub is close to St Margaret's station.

Nice old ( almost by the river ) pub. There is a outside drinking area across the road which is by the river. Inside the pub is very traditional. The only concession to the modern world is a small TV showing BBC news with the sound turned down. Collection of business cards above the bar, and a good locals' feel to the place. Beer is expensive.

Back-street local which is a fair walk from Uxbridge town centre. Pub is usually closed mid-afternoon so don't make a wasted journey! Ex Watneys pub with 1980s décor of black beams, white walls and brass. The main reason to visit this pub is an interesting range of well-kept beers, with good bar service. Watch out for low beams! Nice room at the front.

18th Century pub in a busy pedestrian high street. Lovely interior with old beams and flagstone floor and a nice traditional feel. Conservatory area off to the side. Nice cosy atmosphere inside away from worries of modern shopping outside! Reasonably priced snack menu for a town centre pub. Close to Uxbridge tube station
