There are news updates about once a month, but more often if I receive new information. The oldest updates are near the bottom of the page.
Update: 9th
September 2008
Another trailer can be found HERE
for Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero, also a new Pokémon is revealed in
it, Lucario. It looks a bit like Anubis the Egyptian God.
The next Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS will
be called Pokémon Pearl and Pokémon Diamond. They are also going
to release a game where you can race your favourite Pokémon called
Pokémon Dash which will be awesome!
8th Pokémon
movie: It is called Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero and the movie will be about
Mew! To see the Japanese trailer, go HERE
Its the official
site for the movie. Here is a teaser poster I found on the same site!
7th Pokémon movie: The name of this is Destiny Deoxys and you can by
it from Amazon.com from Febuary 15th 2005!
New Pokémon games info.
Fire Red and Leaf Green are two new Pokémon games for the GBA. They
are remakes of the Red/Blue/Yellow versions. In them, Gary is your rival and
Professor Oak returns, there is a battle searcher as with Ruby and Sapphire.
Other features include: A help feature activated by pressing the "L"
key which calls your brother to give you hints and tips, a replay feature
where you can view your last 5 saves, cut scenes (short animations) when you
enter new areas, Pokédex is updated and has search feature, a new island
called "The Island of Puzzle" and new games to play via the link
cable.
This is what the packaging looks like for the games in Japan.
6th Pokémon movie!!!!!
Mewtwo was seen in the trailer to this movie, but he doesn't seem to be in
the actual movie itself. The name of the movie is Jirachi Wish Maker.
In the trailer, he's seen wearing a cape and standing on the spire where we
left him in Mewtwo Returns!
Also, the title of the 5th movie has been announced. It's Pokémon Heroes: Latias & Latios
There are two
new games for the GameBoy Advance system. They are Pokémon Ruby and
Pokémon Sapphire.
All the graphics are much better and some things look a little different to
how they did in previous games. The Pokémart for example has things
like flowers that can be visably seen instead of just boring cupboards and
fridges.
There is also a new professor who looks like a younger version of Professor
Oak.
The Pokédex looks different too and when you click on a Pokémon
a coloured pic comes up of it with information to the side and underneath.
The Pokémon fight scenes are all now in full funky technicolour too
and I
discovered Pokémon can now fight two on two.
This should make game play all the more interesting! It kinda reminds me of
a fake game I played once called Pokémon Diamond...
It all looks very exciting and has advanced greatly from the original dully
coloured games with only one gender of trainer and no animations. Maybe one
day games will have advanced so much, we will have portable handheld 3D games
in the style of Tomb Raider instead of small little cartoony graphics.
I have images of the covers of the new Pokémon games as they have been
released in Japan.
They look very much like another Red and Blue version but with groovier names.
They should do a purple version lol!
Ruby above and Sapphire below.
Pokémon
Advance is in Japan now. Because it's for the GameBoy Advance, there will
be many new features added, plus 100 more Pokémon! The new features
include:
o Reflections in the water when you walk through puddles
o Footprints in the sand you leave behind you
o Shadows
As well as of course animations of the Pokémon in battle as in Crystal.
The short. A
Pika Pika Starlit Sky Camp. Pikachu and the Pichus are taking a trip on
the train when the Pichus fall off and get lost in the woods they are riding
through. Pikachu goes to rescue them and meets Sonano along the way. Sonano
is the pre-volution of Wobuffet.
Here is some info about the 5th movie. It is called Pokémon: Guardian of the Capital of Water Latiasu and Latiosu. The story is set in "Alto Mare", the most beautiful town in the world. Many Pokémon are in the waterway and air garden that stretches and surrounds the town. The island coexists with man. Ash and other people encounter Latiasu and Latiosu in the town. Latias is the younger sister and Latios is her older brother and "the teardrop of the heart" is hidden and protected in the town by them. Rion is the younger sister of Zanna, a famous jewel thief. Zanna stole the teardrop and Ash and Co. are also involved in the incident somehow. The town becomes flooded from her having broken the seal of "the teardrop of the heart" and Alto Mare. It's up to Ash and Co. as usual to save the day.

Here are pics
of the two new legendaries, seen in the 5th movie. The blue one is Latios
and the red one is Latias. I am unsure of what they are, but they look a bit
like Lugias crossed which Togetics and maybe modelled roughly on aeroplanes.
Advance evolutions!
There are now new evolutions of Pokémon and a 5th movie in the making.
It seems to be about some water legendaries. There is a lot of computer animation
(CGI) in the movie and a lot of water too!
Here are some 5th movie pics.

Mewtwo also features in Super Smash Brothers Melee as a secret unlockable character you get by playing to game for a certain amount of time. Then you get to play as him. The game is for Nintendo GameCube and features brillant graphics plus a zoom in and pause function too. It also includes all your fave Nintendo characters like Super Mario, Pikachu and Donkey Kong.
Mewtwo is in the intro credits of the fourth series of Pokémon (Pokémon Johto League Champions)!! He's standing on the spire where he was at the end of Mewtwo Returns. Could this mean there is a possibility of another Mewtwo episode? Maybe on what happens to him next? After all, in Japan, Mewtwo Returns was also referred to as the Mewtwo Saga and a saga is an ongoing story. Lets hope we see another Mewtwo movie!
The fourth Pokémon movie, Serebii, a Timeless Encounter has, like all the other movies, a short before it called Pikachu's Exciting Hide and Seek. This short is special because it introduces three new, never seen before Pokémon (left). This is the start of the third generation of Pokémon!
THE OFFICIAL
POKÉMON SINGLE!!!!
It was released by a new English, London-based band called 50.Grind (That's
50 Point Grind) on the 10 December 2001. The band asked Nintendo if they could
release it and Nintendo liked it so much, they said it could be the official
Pokémon single and it would maybe even be played in the end credits
of the TV series! However, it never was.
It even has Mewtwo in it (well, they sing "Mewtwo, gotta catch 'em all"
at one point) and he appears on the front of the second CD single cover. They
released the single on two CDs. The first CD has the full version, the radio
version and the dance version and the second CD has the radio version, the
karaoke version and the video.
I bought both, but unfortunately, it only appeared to be available in certain
shops and never even entered the charts. It was totally weird! Later on I
heard it was released with some other Pokémon songs in America.
A special episode
of Pokémon dedicated to Mewtwo was aired in Japan on the 30th of December
2000. It is called "Myuutsuu! Ware wa Kokoni Ari" in Japanese. Directly
translated, this means "Mewtwo! Here I am". It's English name is
Mewtwo Returns. This has got to be the best episode of Pokémon yet
(you get to see Mewtwo walking!!).
This episode is the fourth Special Episode in Japan. It was also written by
the same man who wrote the movie's original script and is like a sequel to
Mewtwo Strikes Back. It lasts for approximately 80 minutes and is like a movie
written for TV. It came out translated on video and DVD on the fourth of December
2001 under the name of Mewtwo Returns. If you want to buy it, you can get
it from Amazon.
It was released in North America on 3rd December 2001 first of all (around
a year later to its first release on Japanese TV screens) and not in the UK
until 28th Febuary 2002 under the name of "Mewtwo Returns, the movie".
Here's my review
of Mewtwo Returns!
Well, 4 Kids actually did something right for once. It was kept as far as
I can see identical to the original in animation with no bits cut out. Mewtwo
debated his existance a lot as usual and even at the end seemed lost. I just
wanted to give him a big hug!! Anywho, it had the normal comedy parts too,
like Brock's frying pan and when Team Rocket saw Mewtwo, James remarked "This
is like the sequal to a movie I missed." If only he knew! Also, the bit
with the water. Everyone loved the fresh taste of it, but when Ash had some,
he said "It kinda tastes like somethin's been swimming around in it..."
Maybe Mewtwo went for a morning swim each day ^_^ Basically, it was just like
an extra long episode of Pokémon. Like most other Mewtwo fans, I felt
like ripping Giovanni's throat out when he hurt Mewtwo, but Mewtwo's power
seems practically limitless. Another thing is that they never bothered to
translate the clone Meowth's voice. If you listen closely, he says "Nya
nya nya" all the time, which is how a Meowth would talk in Japanese (Nyarth
being his name). However, when you listen to it, it does sound a bit like
"Meow meow meow", so I guess that's why they left it. Mewtwo certainly
has a big heart not to have destroyed Giovanni instead of wiping his memory.
I think it was cool he didn't wipe Ash, Misty, Brock, Pika, Jessie, James
or Meowth's memories because there's a good place to leave it open for another
episode in the Mewtwo Saga. Maybe he'll join Ash one day. Meowth turned out
quite a hero and translator of the Pokémon, helping to convince Mewtwo
at the end not to wipe everyone's memories. Domino was cool too, it would
be nice to see more of her in future Poké episodes.
My final rating is 9.8/10 for
Mewtwo Returns. The reason for this is.....well, nothing's perfect and I want
to be truthful. They should release merchandise of it! We want Mewtwo plushies!!!
The fourth movie
is called Serebii: A Timeless Encounter. This fourth movie is about Pokémon
#251, Celebii.
The name for this movie has officially been confirmed as Pokémon 4Ever.
Many Pokémon fans are disappointed by the dub's obvious aim at young
children.

Here is the logo for the new movie. As you can see, it's rediculously corny.
Cute but naff. In my opinion the title should have been Celebi something.
They did it with Revelation Lugia and now they've done it with this one too.
Heck, they may as well call it Pokémon the Movie 4. K, I'll stop ranting
but I think any true fan knows what I'm on about! In Japan Pokémon
has an all round appeal for any age, however everywhere else it seems to be
targeting 5 year olds. This is a big disappointment for all us older fans.
Mewtwo will definately not be appearing in this movie, despite previous rumours
about it. A Team Rocket Member named Bisashu travels into the future and captures
the legendary Pokémon, Celebii, turning it into an evil Pokémon
to make it a slave to Team Rocket. Suicune, the Legendary dog of water also
makes an appearance.
Pokémon
the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back attracted an audience of 650 people in
Japan in the first three days of release in Japanese cinemas back in 1998,
earning a distribution profit of 3 billion Yen. It is reputed to to be the
most popular animated movie in Cinema history.
A radio drama was broadcast in Japan about Mewtwo's origins. It was called
Myuutsuu no Tanjou, or The Birth of Mewtwo. Later, a double CD was released
for it, the radio drama (in five parts) on the first CD and the music score
of the Japanese Mewtwo Strikes Back film on the second CD. It all goes back
to the time when Giovanni's mother was boss of Team Rocket (known as the Rocket
Gang in Japan). It was Jessie's mother, Myamoto's idea to look for Mew, but
she never returned. Meanwhile, Giovanni became boss and some members found
a fossil of Mew's eyebrow, so Giovanni payed Dr Fuji to create a powerful
clone. Dr Fuji carried on doing experiments to make a clone of his dead daughter
(who was killed in a car accident), but Human clones only survive for 4 years.
It was at the end of her life, the little girl called Ai, that baby Mewtwo
awoke and they made friends. Unfortunatly, Ai died and Mewtwo became upset,
so the scientists put him back to sleep. Next time he woke up was at the beginning
of the English version, when he'd matured. In in the radio drama is a bit
when the computer actually shoots and kills Mewtwo, when he tries to escape
for the first time. But he regenerates himself and comes back to life! That
is one powerful Pokémon! And you thought his voice was scary in the English
version of Mewtwo Strikes Back, click HERE
to hear Mewtwo's Japanese voice. In Japan, Pokémon is called Poketto
Monsutaa and Mewtwo Strikes Back is called Myuutsuu No Gyakushuu, meaning
"Mewtwo's Counter Attack".
The
story line of the translated version of The Birth of Mewtwo is kept practically
identical to the Japanese original and baby Mewtwo is very sweet. He's got
a cute voice! Also, Ai's English name is Amber.
