Meo n' Co.

Adventures of the purple cat-thing, his nephew and friends.
I created Meo way back in 2001. Soon he had an annoying little nephew, Spyke and a neighbor, Lazarus. Then I created the E.B.S.F.A.D. but more on them later!
Meo was originally just a doodle I did while in the library at school. I didn't even colour him to begin with. I found I could draw a wide variety of expressions with his face and used him for emoticon purposes and to express feelings (usually doodled down the margin of my school paper!) He speaks in a gruff sort of voice and has a hover board. He likes Hover Board Racing (or HBR) and often fights for first place in the race with his rival, Redd.
Then I created Spyke who, in a way became more popular than Meo. I used him in comics and his personality was developed faster. Meo and Spyke both love cheese but especially Spyke who can think of lots of odd and interesting things to do with it! He also speaks in a gruff sort of voice but higher than Meo's.
Lazarus came third. He was just some weird bird-thing I doodled and he became Meo's neighbor who drove a 4x4 and complained about Spyke making too much racket in the garden. He's also very tall. Well, very tall in relation to Meo and Spyke. I never really developed him as much as the other two.
Then one day I was doodling Meo and drew an evil sheep growling at him. And so the E.B.S.F.A.D. were born. It stands for Eeevil Brainsucking Sheep From Another Dimension.
They have red eyes and are larger than normal sheep and like to chase Meo. They don't bother so much about Spyke though because he really doesn't have much of a brain. They can be found in fields of sheep and are distinguished by their red eyes and how they stare at you as you pass. Also they have two short spikes along the back of their necks.

Meo n Co. for 2008!
A group pic of Meo n' Co. I did at the beginning of 2008. I'd been planning on drawing a group pic of them like this for a couple of years now. I needed funky poses and thats what I have here!

Meo
These are the first pictures of Meo I ever drew. They were black and white for a long time but I coloured them in. Like a few of my other characters, Meo is purple, my favourite colour!
Meo on his Hover Board

I was really proud of this picture when I did it back in 2001. I used tubes from Paint Shop Pro and the history brush in Photoshop. I later discovered the clear fill paintbucket and found I didn't need to take so long trying to get the background layer to show behind the picture. I have a printout of this on my bedroom door.

Meo Profile
Years later, this I think is still my all time favourite picture of Meo I've drawn. He's got his Hover Board with him here. Simple background but I love the pose and his face, I got everything perfect.

Meo The first picture I ever put a computer background on. I used the history brush again (I hadn't discovered outer glow) and some star effects I got with some Photoshop filters I downloaded at some time. Not very impressive but it was the first pic I ever did a computer background on so its worth a mention.

Meo on his Hover Board
Meo kicking up some air on his Hover Board. Note the cool shades! I always loved doing funky neon graffiti style writing, it featured on a lot of my t-shirts too.

Meo & Red - Rivals Meo and his Hover Board Racing rival, Redd. I used WordArt from Windows Word on this one and some tubes from Paint Shop Pro. For the background I used a texture fill, something I'd recently discovered when I did the picture. I think the clouds give a nice effect.

Meo and a very angry E.B.S.F.A.D. Be forewarned, you never called them "Sheepy" it gets them very wound up!

Meo VS an E.B.S.F.A.D.
Meo being chased by an E.B.S.F.A.D. Meo being chased by an E.B.S.F.A.D. I like how they're jumping out of the frame, I've always been fond of that effect. Also Meo's movement is so frantic!

Meo seems to have caught a very unusual fish in this one. Man, this is taking me back a bit. I didn't even remember drawing this one till I found it on one of my old CDs. Meo and Spyke are always funny when they interact.

Meo finds Spyke at the swimming baths
Meo takes Spyke for a ride on his Hover Board Spyke goes for a ride on Meo's Hover Board but he's not very good at hanging on! Spyke wants his own Hover Board but he'll have to wait until he's old enough for a licence! This was fun to draw.

Lazarus or Lazarous? Poor Lazarus hasn't featured in many pictures or comics, since he was the last character to be created. Meo was first but I seem to have drawn Spyke more since he's more random. Notice I spelt his name Lazarous when I first created him. I've no idea why I forgot and changed the spelling.

Lazarus 2006 profile picture A picture I drew for Lazarus in 2006. Another example of how my style and drawing techniques have improved in the last 5 years. I figured Lazarus needed to be drawn! So here he is waving with one of my favourite backgrounds.

Twizted Tranzizter
Meo and Spyke are in a band. The name? Twizted Tranzizter. The music? Electro synth 80s style metal and my inspiration was music by the band, Less Than Jake and the anime Initial D's music.
Coridor is the lead vocals in the band and he also plays secondary guitar.
Sterreo plays bass and sings. He'll also play keyboard if needed.
AvistA is lead guitar and singer.
Meo is keyboards or trumpet.
Spyke is trumpet.
Katnip is drums.
Lazarus sometimes joins in as a singer.
They can play different instruments and do different jobs depending on what is needed for the song. Their gigs involve pyrotechnics from AvistA, Coridor and Sterreo turning to their natural liquid state and showing off around the stage, ultra violet and black lights, large screen videos behind the perfomance and neons.
Twizted Tranzizter The first pic of the band I drew together. You can see them doing their usual jobs in this picture. I had this printed on a mug too. This is what the band looks like most of the time.
And this is the cover of their first album, Battery Acidd! I still need to do a songlist for it. They do have a poem kinda thing though....
Coridor and Sterreo let the funky music flow
Pull it up and let it go
Twizted Tranzizter stealin' the show
Ya got Spyke on trumpet, Katnip on drums
Meo on keyboard havin' some fun
AvistA on guitar blastin' out a tune
Playin' those riffs, rockin' out the room
Coridor's the words,
Sterreo on bass
Every gig they do is tearin' up the place
Twizted Tranzizter, aint no better band
Got a rep for rockin; right across the land!
