My
characters aren't the only artwork I draw of course. I also draw animals,
cars and the occasional human. I haven't got the hang of drawing humans
realistically yet but after a few years of pratice, I finally got my cartoon
style for them down. I have been drawing animals all my life. Humans I only
started drawing in a big way back in 1998. It was mainly because I always
liked animals better and I was never happy with how my humans turned out.
So on this page you will see examples of my realistic, stylised and cartoony
artwork.
Some
Other Characters Of Mine
A
picture I drew of my Rex cross guinea pig, Venus, back when I was taking commissions
for the members of the Devon Cavy Club. This later became her memorial picture
as well. The original is framed and hangs on the wall in our house. I think
its my favourite guinea pig picture out of all the ones I've drawn.

My
Muse. This is a mixture of many things I hold dear such as antennaes, wings
since I fly in my dreams, my red logo on its shoulder, long body and short legs,
arrows, aspects of a few of my other characters and short muzzle, long ears
since they are fun to draw.

Another
improvement with my art in terms of colouring. Remembering the success I had
with Zorak and the bug, I tried again, also practising my stylised fur and being
inspired by a couple of fellow artists. I found the more shades I used to colour,
the better the picture looks. So I drew up a bunch of these fantasy creatures
I call Dreikons and I'm very proud of them.
My
beloved cats, Toby and Casper as angels because they are now. They inspired
many comics and stories while I was growing up and I thank them for bringing
joy into my life during all the hard times at school and for being my first
real childhood pets. Rest in peace, guys.

Riktus
Rinktus the Meta Bug. He is one of my faves of my characters and he has an extensive
bio. He flies a fighter jet and is the weapons expert on the starship, Paragon,
a paranoid living ship who keeps trying to flee from battle. Riktus is a drug
addicted badass bug and lethal with every type of gun imaginable.

One
of my favourite characters, Mr Snuggles the Caline. Calines are like a cross
between a cat and a dog. A big hybrid cat thing that acts like a dog. So he'll
chase a stick for example. He's also a fast runner and an excellent guard. His
looks are enough to scare people away before they'd think about making friends
with him though!
Drawn in HB pencil.
One
of my older characters, Snarl the blue wolf. I created him in 2002 and this
is his 2008 picture. He is slightly reptilian with some scales here and there
and has a large purple mane and his design has remained the same through the
years.

Felieons
A
band of characters I originally created in 2001 one day when I was bored in
the library at college one lunchtime. I made 8 of them, Genki, Khetto, Basdeth,
Sall, Cass, Lucus, Arashii and Jeph. Later I came to use them in THIS,
a mini site about them I made as an IT project. I also used it in Media Studies
for my final exam along with a slideshow presentation I did for them. The
Felieons live in Delta City and go on many adventures. One day I hope to have
it made into a TV series. So really the point I'm getting to is I used to
draw me and my late boyfriend as Felieons and here are some pictures.
These mean a lot to me as he passed away sadly in April 2007. I'll always
remember seeing his face light up when I drew picture like this of us together.

This
is one of my favourites. Just a simple picture with "Unbreakable"
underneath. I love Antony's sweet expression in this one. When I did Graphics
at school we studied arrangement of lettering so I always enjoy doing bubble
writing under a picture.

Just
a sweet sentimental cuddle picture. I wanted to recreate the closeness we had,
cuddled up together. I always ink the characters and do the backgrounds in pencil
because then the characters stand out better.

This
picture was hard to pull off with the glowing wings and actually it turned out
not as I'd hoped. The wings belong to my Felieon but its hard to see whether
they belong to my one or Antony's one in the picture. This is the first picture
I drew of them without clothes and the glow was added on the computer.

Larval
is a human character I created back in 2004. He's a creep who lurks on street
corners taking advantage of passers by. He sucks up to people, gains their trust,
uses them and disposes of them. He's also an expert at this. He lives in a grubby
little apartment and has no money. Its because of this he takes advantage of
everyone else. You think you've got the better of him when all along it was
him who's got the better of you.

An
old example of my stylised work, this is what I would have if I got a tattoo.
The Doom Kitties I created back in 2003. Oblivvion was the alpha and the others
were his underlings. He was the only red one, the others were black with purple
stripes. They were bringers of curses to people who angered me.
Drawn in Berol Broad felt tips.
Believe
it or not, this guy is even older than Silvolf. I created him back in 2000 and
he was originally some sort of Pokémon. Now he's my own character because
he's equally able to stand alone. He breathes fire with a very high acidity
level and if its put out with water, it turns to pure acid which isn't nice.
Lovely imagination I have! He was also published in the October 2000 issue of
the UK, Pojo's Pokémon magazine.

Not
my character, but I am so proud of this, I figured I should show it off here.
This is my take on Zorak, a character from an old cartoon called Space Ghost.
It took 3 1/2 hours to draw and colour and I had the idea hanging around my
head for at least a week before getting round to putting it on paper. I tried
to get a comic effect with 5 shading tones which makes a great effect. I wanted
to make him look realistic because the character was very simple on the show
really. I think I pulled it off very well!

One
of my older characters, although not in this form. AvistA has had a lot of remodelling.
She was one of my first online personas and was a Mewtwo (Pokémon) you
can still see her in her original form on my Mewtwo's Hideout site. She had
a couple of new looks as my interests changed but this is her final design.
Basically I wanted her to be entirely mine so I created this design for her.

Have
you ever had the feeling that all of a sudden you "level up" in the
quality of your artwork? This and the two pictures below gave me that feeling.
I drew this random dragon/Dachshund so I could use the fur technique I learned
from a friend. The colours came as I coloured it and I'm very pleased with the
final result. The fur technique is incredibly effective.

After
doing so well with the Zorak picture, I drew this bug. It was more experimenting
with the colouring technique I used and I'm very proud of it. Colouring the
pearlescent carapace of the bug was a challenge, I wanted it to resemble a beetle's
shiny armor.

This
was the picture that started me out actually making the effort to hand draw
backgrounds instead of stick on a computer made background. It's two cats, I
call it surreal and various things about the picture mean things to me. Also
I experimented with different shading and the folds in the satin too. I outlined
the cats in colour to give it a more natural look.

This
was a little trip back in time for me. I created the Spottie Kitties, based
on Ocelots, in college for an exam. I've sold pieces similar to this one and
they are a lot of fun to draw. I made the spots different shapes and sizes to
give the cat a 3D look.

A
picture I drew dedicated to my dear sweetheart, Antony. I look to the heavens
and see his spirit soar free. This took me three and a half hours and I'm very
proud of it.I managed to draw something beautiful based on how I felt at the
time. He was my friend, my sweetheart and an irreplacable part of my life.

A
portrait of my friend Kei's dog, Brandy. This is part of the diploma course
in pet portraits I'm doing and was the first full colour portrait of a dog I
did for the course. I'm very proud of it. It took around 7 hours and I used
a photo of course for reference.
