Activities

News and some recent work undertaken by Quarndon Cognition.

We've been to or will visit the following events if you'd like an informal chat about us or about the meetings:

INCF masthead
The International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility Peter has enjoyed taking part in the workshops set up to decide what role the UK should play in this important area of science. The Medical Research Council has funded UK membership of INCF from August 2007.

NCAF - We now attend almost all NCAF meetings. These are hugely enjoyable and have a good mix of academics and industrial researchers with an interest in IT solutions inspired by living systems.

... and Peter is playing baritone sax with the Ockbrook Big Band on Sunday evenings at the Royal Oak - Ockbrook from 8-10 p.m... and recently he had the privilege of playing in a concert with the National Saxophone Choir which received a good review in The Guardian

Clients

  • energy,
  • healthcare,
  • security,
  • finance and
  • manufacturing.

The Technology Strategy Board - the independent agency that manages the national investment in innovation and technology on behalf of the Government.

... and also Close Ventures and Foursome Ventures - both exciting and imaginative venture capital companies who have been a delight to work with.

Grid migration strategy

We have worked with a leading data management company to jointly develop a strategy for migration from their current data management systems to Grid based technology. This will allow easy reuse of legacy software and the incorporation of newly acquired signal processing into the business.

Multinational presentation

We were privileged to be invited to talk about the business impact of emerging technology at the Senior Management Conference of a multinational IT company - examining near term broadband developments and taking a look at on-the-horizon developments of non-classical devices and the implications for business management.
