Korakor
gets a visitor
Dawn, rider of Kora for some years, came down to visit her
old friend bringing YET again more pressies. This time a Brand new out
door rug for when the weather turns unfavourable and a full box of his
favourite polo's and a bag of apples.
Dawn stayed for a couple of days, and so, was duly put to work, preparing
new stable floors, mucking out and dung runs. We are sure Dawn will
visit again, hopefully when Korakor is ready to resume work. Thank you
Dawn.
Surprise Encounter is ready to find home.
Despite his previous self opinionated attitude he is a lot more willing
to please, even the odd solo hack has gone without a hitch so anyone
out there looking for a very affectionate 16.2 , 9 yr old with stroppy
teenager tendencies, get in touch.
Indian Flyer

Indy is a 3 yr old, standing approx 16.1. Again we are blessed with
a baby with impeccable manners. He is being lightly hacked at the moment
and by the end of September will have time off to grow and mature a
little more. He and his mate Korakor are quite often seen joined at
the shoulder grazing the same patch of grass.
Cappa Hill
Sadly after 4 months of trying to regain Cappa's confidence, we had
to admit that he was unsafe to rehome.
There appeared to be only one option for him. Until Gerry Watkins and
his team at Horseworld in Bristol agreed to give him a place there.
We were delighted, Cappa is a very gentle and loving horse. So if any
one out there is looking for a companion, please ring - Horseworld on

State Performance (Shrek)
Shrek was returned with a large swelling on his face, first thoughts
were, a tooth abscess, Ross our dental expert feared a fractured jaw.
Arrangements were quickly made to get him x-rayed, due to the size of
the swelling a clear picture was not easy, 8 plates had to be taken.
From what we were able to see on the plates, it looks favourable that
a fracture is not evident, and his molars all look in order. So all
we can do is wait for what looks like an abscess to erupt and hope that
nothing else appears.

Our
Physio Jo Verhaeg has given him a treatment but has found nothing ongoing,
which is great news. He has been accused of having an unfavourable temperament
with other horses, and on occasion also with humans, but since his return
we have found him to be nothing but the gentle giant he was previously.
So we can only assume that he was unhappy and is now delighted to be
back home.
We have to say a huge thank you to Michael Harris and his team from
the Racehorse Owners Emergency Relief Fund for coming to our aid and
helping us with his veterinary care.
No matter how hard we do our ground work, no one can ever be sure that
prospective carers are as genuine as they seem. We are aware that taking
on a youngster is a long term project, and if you do not have the patience,
or the knowledge to bring on a baby please, DON'T TRY.
A
pleasure ride in the village with Surprise, Space, Sky, Dodger, Shrek
and Ladybird. Shrek and Lady only went half way round due to not being
ultra fit.
