Open Day
14th September 2002
Thank you to every one who
helped on the day,
Jackie and Sue who were kept
on their toes helping Clive and Neil on the very busy B.B.Q.
Louisa, Samie, Victoria and
Megan did a sterling job on manning the cake stall, raffle and our own
equine stall.
Max, Callum, Dean and Jim
for being the car park attendants.
Jo and Sue for taking the
time to bring Top Guide, Rosevere and Anokato back for the day. Impy
and the three visitors were in paddocks next to each other, they all
enjoyed being admired by the visitors and hardly moved from the fence
for fear of missing out on a treat.
We have to say a huge thank
you to our demonstrators.
Lindsay Drewell
kept everyone enthralled with her demonstration on fitting
a saddle correctly, with quite a few members of the audience convinced
their saddle is incorrectly fitted. Wild Sky enjoyed being the center
of attention and we now have a perfectly fitted saddle to use on him,
but it will not fit anyone else.
Simon Bridges,
our Equine feed supplier and great supporter from Rosemill Feeds, Ilminster,
kindly demonstrated the new Equissage machine using Sky.
Krysia Rowland
and Lara Neighbour used Deep Space for a demonstration
on Equine Touch and Bowen Therapy.
And thank you to Jeff Herrington
of the International League for the Protection of Horses and his wife
Mary for taking the time to come and show their support.
At the end of the day Artful
Dane left for his new home down in Plymouth with Frederique. Quite a
few people were enjoying what was left of the wine and sunshine when
he was loaded up, and with a tearful farewell, left us.
Sky and Space were released
from the confines of their stables and gave a wonderful display of just
what a sprinter is made off, side by side past the spectators at the
BBQ and back again, with the odd buck and squeal as they passed.
A great day had by all
