Hellfire Downloads

All of the files require Winzip to uncompress them.  Click on the banner below to obtain the latest copy of WinZip.

I strongly suggest the use of a download management tool to handle the rather large download.  You can find several decent free ones here.

Once you've got your download manager installed, the next bit is to download the Hellfire application.

Hellfire v2.8.3 File 1 10/06/2004; 24.7Mb

Hellfire v2.8.3 File 2 10/06/2004; 27.0Mb

Unzip both files into a temporary folder on your hard drive,  and run setup.  Follow the on-screen instructions.

Some fixes to TOPS reporting and some timetable/diagramming fixes.

If this is the first time you have installed the game, you will be asked to navigate to the location where the data files have been saved.  Once you have done this, the game is ready to play!

Existing Western Rover Users:  You should perform the following steps to convert Western Rover into Hellfire:

  1. Backup any needs lists you wish to keep for use with Hellfire.  Western Rover needs lists are Hellfire compatible.
  2. Uninstall Western Rover using the control panel - add/remove programs utility.
  3. Install Hellfire as above, if you haven't already done so.
  4. Convert your Western Rover licence key to a hellfire licence key if you are a registered Western Rover user.  Click on this link to convert your licence key.  Either download and open, or run it from its current location.
  5. Copy your saved needs lists into your hellfire data folder (default location is c:\program files\hellfire)
  6. Delete your Western Rover data folder if it still exists and you want to save on disk space (default is c:\program files\western rover)
