Photos of My Railway Memories

Photo No. 17 of 60
45510 just north of Madeley

The writing on the back of the photograph reads: "45510 "'Patriot' class on Manchester – London train, April 1957. Passing Grafton’s Wood pumping station (disused)"
The spot is between Betley Road and Madeley. Because it's on the Up Slow and not the Up Fast, my guess is it's a relief train to an advertised train in the public timetable.
The steam underneath the loco seems to indicate that the inside cylinder steam cock is open.
Photograph from Peter Brown's collection.
