With taking the body off the chassis, i decided to give the RangeRover a body lift to help overcome the problems i was having with the oversize tyres. After looking at the body, chassis and suspension i decided to give it a one inch body lift, as it seems that any higher would incur further problems with the propshafts, steering, gearbox levers and so-on.

This is the offside bulkhead mounting. I purchased an 1¼ nylon bar, cut 10 one inch pieces and drilled out the centre for the bolt. These were inserted between the chassis mount and the body mount, and one inch longer bolts with locking nuts were used to bolt it all tight.

These are the new bodymount fixings with the nylon spacers which have been numbered to match the bodymounts on the chassis.

There are a total of 10 rubber body to chassis mounts which i made spacers for. However there are also 4 rear floor supports and 4 other mounts, which 2 are used for the rear seat belt mounts. I am in the process of fabricating these mounts to accommodate the 1 inch lift.

This is 1 of 4 brackets from the chassis to the rear floor of the body, to support the weight of all the gear in the back of the rangie. This is a piece of 2" box section cut down and welded ontop of the existing body support. The rubber padding has been glued back on top and the 4 supports fitted.

Here you can see the support brackets fitted at the rear of the vehicle, either side of the spring mounting.

These are the two front support brackets which i fabricated. They are located under the front seats and are bolted to the floorpan. I cut off the top of the existing brackets and welded them to metal box section.

This is the support bracket fitted to the drivers side floor. I have run the new fuel pipes straight through this mount, as the old fuel pipes dropped down and ran beside the chassis and were badly corroded. I have used copper piping as the original Landrover fuel pipes cost £80.00 for the pair!

Once i have finished the floorpan i shall fabricate the seat belt mounts.
