Upon stripping out the interior, i found a
mouse had made itself comfortable behind my dashboard.

Body ready for lift off and body
removed. The shell was not that heavy although it was awkward because we
had to lift the body over the engine. (Thanks to Paul, Richard and John
for the man power) We also found that if you lift the shell from the
headlight area the inner wings bend in the middle of the box section.
This was not helped due to the rusty inner wings.

The body was put on its side to make it
easier to repair the floor. The rusty holes were cut back and new metal
welded back in place to stop me getting wet feet.
Once the patches were welded in the
underside was repainted with underseal. The front inner wings have been
cut off as these need to be replaced and the rear crossmember has been
left for now until the body was mounted back on the chassis, so that the
body mounts line up.
Paul (on the left), Richard (on
the right), John, Andy and me lifting the body shell back onto the chassis. Its a lot
easier lifting the shell back on without any front inner wings as we did
not have to lift it over the engine.
The bodyshell is now mounted onto the
chassis with new fixings and wheeled back into the garage ready for the
rear crossmember to be replaced.

Ive finished welding the footwells and
gave it all a coat of red oxide paint, so it wont rust before ive
finished the project!
Here i have removed the rotten rear
crossmember by drilling out all the spot welds, ready to accept the new
crossmember.

New crossmember installed ready for red
oxide paint.
