INNER WHEEL CLUB OF RIBBLESDALE

Although the Rotary Club of Ribblesdale was formed in 1977, they did not have an Inner Wheel Club until 1985 when some of the wives got together to establish if there was enough interest to form a Club. More than the requisite number were interested and the Club was born.
The Charter Dinner was held at the Foxfields Hotel, Whalley, with representatives from Rotary District 1190. The members were joined by their husbands and members from the surrounding Clubs. Representatives from Kendal South Westmorland Club were also present since they were being formed at the same time.
The Founder President was Mrs Edna Clarkson, who came in for a second term of office in 2003/4. There are two Vice-Presidents at the moment so the immediate future looks secure.
The meetings generally take place at the Moorcock Inn, Waddington, 7.15pm for 7.30pm, on the first Thursday of the month, with a meal and coffee followed by a speaker. The May meeting is usually a walk followed by supper and the August meeting is an outing.
The March meeting was an open one in aid of overseas charities and there are special fund-raising events, held regularly, to support mainly local charities such as;
Air Ambulance, First Responders and, of course, the local Hospice.
We would be happy to welcome wives, partners or relatives of Rotarians and Rotaracters to any of our meetings.
Our current officers are;

President; Anne Senior

Vice President; Muriel Ashcroft

2nd Vice President;

Secretary; Janice Hirst
