The Case for the Gospel

“Knowing God without knowing our own wretchedness makes for pride. Knowing our own wretchedness without knowing God makes for despair. Knowing Christ strikes the balance because he shows us both God and our own wretchedness.”

Pascal

What is the Christian message? Simply told, the gospel points out a serious problem in us and in the world, but it doesn’t leave us there - it also presents the solution. The problem is ultimately one of separation [we are all separated from God] and that is why the only solution is reconnection [we need to be reconnected to God]. Often the hardest part in being saved is admitting we are lost, but God is ready to restore us when we ask for forgiveness from Him and trust in the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Case for the Gospel identifies the fact we are separated from God but presents the good news that God has dealt with the problem once and for all and now offers us a new life with him that will last forever.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
