In the stipend of one reed thatcher with his servant for 8 ½ days for the hall and the lord’s chamber from fitting the roof with reeds and from new ridging for the whole [length] 3s 6 ½ per day together 5d

In one basket bought for carrying clay to ridge the same 1d

In the stipend of one man for 16 days for partitions of the lord’s chamber from daubing, mending and plastering and for a smoke vent in the hall and the lord’s chamber, plastering the buildings and for partitions of various other buildings from mending daubing for the arrival of the lord 2s per day 1 ½ d In one pair of hinges with fixing plates for a new door in the lord’s chamber 14d

Item in the stipend of one roofer with his servant for 17 ½ days for covering defects on the grange bakehouse, clerks’ chamber, larder building, guesthouse stable and defects on the wall within the inner gate of the manor in places 5s 10d per day together 4d

In the stipend of John Gange carpenter with his 3 men for 22 ½ days for the doors and shutters of the hall, the lord’s chamber, the clerk’s and arms bearer’s chamber and the dairy house from repairing and restoring carpentry for the arrival of the lord and for one new poultry house for carpentry and for making it with timber felled and shaped for the same sited near the workshop 15s 11 ¼ d per day together 8 ½ d.

Item in the stipend of 3 carpenters for 5 days for the said poultry house removing it and putting it at the head of the cow shed and for the same carpenter completing it 15d per day together 3d at the lord’s table in his residence.

In 400 lathe nails bought for the said house 4d.

In the stipend of 1 roofer with his servant for 7 days for the said poultry house from new roofing 2s4d per day together 4d

In plates made for sills of the solar round the poultry house 4d

In one pair of hinges with plates for one door [host] of the door [port] of the dairy house over the head of the new poultry house 2d

In the stipend of one man for 4 days for partitioning the bailiff’s room, the clerk’s room and partitioning the building le Wayte for plastering and mending with one piece of wall behind the granary made from new 6d per day 1 ½ d

In 300 nails per 100 3d with 460 nails price of 100 2d bought for various doors and shutter of buildings and chambers mended and for fitting locks on the door and for attaching and fixing boards and tables for the place 18d

In 1 plate and 1 hinge bought for the door next to the chamber towards the orchard for keeping the firewood in the yard there 2d

In partitioning the cart horse stable, new dairy building and mending other partitions for the arrival of the lord in the time of John Oky 8 ¼ d

In 2 staples of iron bought for locks of the door of the palfrey stable and the door of the hen house 1d

In 1 lock with a key at the door of the palfrey stable bought 1 ½ d

In the stipend of 1 man for the passage between the lord’s chamber and the chapel and for taking the roof off and for reeds bought and from collecting, binding and stacking to save it. From the old chamber for 4 ½ days 9d per day 2d . In timber bought removing the passage and carrying it elsewhere 2d

In the stipend of 2 tilers for the roofing of the kitchen. All over from mending the roof with tiles for 4 weeks 10s taken by the week together 2s 6d.
