| A view of the Park, 1829 | |
| Rowland Holt embellished
the park at the expense of £30,000, in such a manner as
to render this one of the most beautiful spots in the
county. The mansion is a spacious handsome structure, built of Woolpit brick, and the centre which projects is adorned with a pediment supported by four Ionic columns. The park is charmingly wooded and adorned with a fine piece of water in front of the house. In the evidence room are preserved many very valuable manuscripts.
