Firework Report 2009

"In a million years I didn't think someone's display would have ended up in my front room."

This is our fifth annual Firework Report and we are still waiting for the firework industry to accept financial responsibility for all the ‘rogue’ fireworks their industry produce.

Some things remain the same but others escalate.

There was a disturbing incident March, reported on the BBC, ‘Tragic Winnie’s family call for end to solo ambulance crews’, where firework were thrown at ambulance workers as they attended a dying woman.

Firefighters are seen as targets by the firework throwing morons, and our politicians, by their inaction, are condoning their actions.   Please, please, politicians, do not allow this practise to extend to ambulance workers.

This report is available on our website http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/restrictfireworks

The report comes in three parts. The first part is our comments on what happened in 2008/9. The second part contains the quotations of all the newspaper reports, together with their source

The third part, the evidence, gives the full newspaper article, some have been edited, where it has not been firework related, but in the main, the article is as it was written.

We would like to thank all the journalists and editors of the newspapers for making these items available, either by newspaper or in Internet form.

Together, we can make a difference, for all those who are affected by explosives, sold under the name of fireworks.
