Pe-Scan 3.31

Pe-scan is a diagnostic tool to analyse and determine the protection method of a win32 EXE/PE file. it currently holds a database of over 250 different protection methods, and also includes an advanced scanning option to compare the entrypoint/section signatures and provide statistics on the most likely protection used on that file. running packed/encrypted file through pe-scan gives the exact version of the protection used, where to find more information on the WWW, the Original Entry Point, and some basic information about the EntryPoint RVA and Offset values. currently in version 3.3, pe-scan can also unpack and restore files that are protected with aspack, pecompact, petite, wwpack, and many others, returning them to fully functional files unrestricted by protection and compression 'wrappings'; other protection methods will also be given this option in future releases. as an aid to the diagnostics of a protected file, pe-scan also gives Original Entry Point to determine how a file can be recovered in the case of the unpack/restore option not being available. other features include a shell integration option for right-click convenience and drag'n'drop support. pe-scan is a utility that will always be improved as protection and compression methods advance, and should be checked back for new versions regularly. in progress is an unpack/restore option for armadillo-wrapped files, asprotect protected files, telock protected files, and also a generic dumping option, including import and resource rebuilding.
