In memorium:

Sadly Ken Michael passed away in 2009. A stalwart of the club, long serving player, member and supporter, just too much to list. Until the end Ken was just as keen to watch us play on a Saturday as he was to play in his youth. Quietly spoken but fiercely loyal, the last of his kind, we're in a different World now.

Ian Wassell (father of Chris Wassell) passed away September 2010.
Only longer serving members will remember Ian, a no nonsense, dedicated cricketer, father and grand father, would only take holidays Sunday to Friday and was even known to come back for evening league fixtures through the week. A keen cricketer in every sense, best known for his accurate swing and seam bowling.

We're also saddened to report the passing of Pete Belk in October 2010. I don't believe Pete ever played for Sprotbrough but his three sons certainly did, throughout their junior careers and for an all too brief spell in their adulthood. Pete and his wife Joy were dedicated supporters following their sons and Sprotbrough everywhere, probably spending more time at Sprotbrough CC than most of our players did! Pete was a quiet man, never seen without a pint in his hand but he knew his cricket and always offered his loyal support. I am sure he got many hours of pleasure from watching us on the field of play and will be sadly missed by those who knew him.
