2003 - 2005 |
Test Analyst |
|
|
This
role involved testing IT applications/systems before they go live to ensure that
they meet the business requirements and do not affect existing systems.
This involved all
aspects of UAT – from preparing test plans for sign off, scripting and
testing, to training and implementation of the new system/application.
Some of the projects I worked on included the implementation of BACSTEL-IP software, an
online registration site for Barclaycard and an
extranet application for use by retailers across Europe.

This was my placement as
part of my sandwich degree. I was responsible for dealing with technical
escalations from the company helpdesk on core office applications which
required good analytical skills.
I was also responsible
for completing the Call Trend Report which analyses problems and identifies
trends. I worked on various projects including software pilots/testing,
server consolidation and had some of my solutions submitted to the company's
Knowledge Base.
