ASHBY CROQUET CLUB Introduction to Croquet courses & Group Taster Sessions

Each year we run introductory courses for beginners. The course comprises two sessions, beginning with learning to play Golf Croquet. After mastering the basic strokes common to both versions of the game, course members are then introduced briefly to Association Croquet. The Club can then organise follow-up sessions on Golf Croquet or Association Croquet according to people's needs.

The cost of the course is £6.00 (concessions £4.00) for the two sessions. There is no obligation to join the Club, but if a course member does subsequently decide to join us, then we offer the first year's membership at half price. All equipment is provided for the course; the only requirement is that flat soled shoes or trainers be worn.

The next beginners’ course is scheduled for June 2010, but we can organise a course before then if there is sufficient demand.

Also, we can arrange croquet taster sessions for outside groups and organisations, e.g. WI groups and Round Table. The charge for a two-hour session is currently £3.50 per person, with a minimum charge of £35.00 (i.e. 10 people). Our taster sessions are proving to be as popular as ever, and as a result all of our taster session slots for 2009 are now fully booked.
