GOLF CROQUET DOUBLES LEAGUE

Internal Golf Croquet Doubles League, played throughout the season. 13-point handicap matches; no time limit. Matches may be played at any convenient time (subject to the usual lawn restrictions).

In doubles handicap play, extra strokes are awarded to individuals, not the side. Compare the handicaps between the respective higher and lower opposing players. Extra strokes equal to half the difference, rounded up to a whole number, are awarded to the individual higher-handicap players.

3 points for a win; 1 point for the loser. Any points arising from games of a player completing less than 1/3 of the possible number of games by the closing date will be excluded from the results.

The league grid is posted on the notice-board. Please enter your results on the grid after each match is played. Members are free to select their own partners, and may join the league at any time (subject to a closing date towards the end of the season) by adding their name to the grid.

2006 REPORT

Five pairs competed in our club doubles league this year. The clear winners were Tim King and Mick Haytack with 12 points, but only two points separated the remaining four pairs. The runners-up (on "who beat whom") were Ray and Chris Mounfield with 8 points. Remaining positions: 3rd Dave Davis and Barrie March 8 pts; 4th Anthony Finch and Mike O'Brian (on "who beat whom") 6 pts; 5th Eileen and Derek Buxton 6pts. Many thanks to Barrie for running the Golf Croquet internal leagues.
