Ridgewell and the villages surrounding Ridgewell airfield can be found in North west Essex close to the border with Suffolk. The location,mid-way between the City of Cambridge and the major Essex town of Colchester, has the towns of Halstead, Haverhill, Sudbury close by. The area is located along the A1017 and can be reached from the M11 / A120 via Braintree or the M11 / A11 via Haverhill (A1307).
