My stoneware goes through biscuit firing then glaze firing. The glazes I use are natural earthing colours which include a white tin speckle effect. The colours are used on all of my domestic ware and are all microwaveable and dishwasher proof.

Raku goes through a biscuit firing and then is taken into the garden and is fired in the raku kiln. This process is fired in under one hour. When the kiln is switched off with the lid removed and pots lifted out at about 1000 degrees using tongs and placed into a container with a shallow bed of sawdust, once the container is full the lid goes on top to extinguish the flame which produces smoke which is driven into the bare clay to give the pots that black effect leaving the lustrous glaze.
