Tai Chi Qigong is an enjoyable and gentle way of improving the general fitness and well-being of both body and mind. In Rik's beginners class, you will explore both the physical and mental aspects of qigong. The approach is very practical and tangible, exploring mental awareness of movement. Many of the exercises are taken from Classical Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, and are strongly influenced by the practical side of Buddhism. The emphasis is upon health, as opposed to the martial aspects. Known as the Yin side (the earth and healing side) of Yang (Style), these exercises offer insight into workings of the mind and body. Your own experiences will lead to an understanding of how these exercises may improve concentration, awareness, balance, perception, and co-ordination, reduce stress, and much more. |
