Barn Dances


	Barn dances or ceilidhs are usually danced to traditional folk music. They are very popular as they are suitable for all ages and everyone, even absolute beginners, can join in and have a great time. Because they have such general appeal, they are excellent for social events, weddings and fund raising. It doesn't matter if you have never been to a barn dance before because the caller will explain each dance before the music begins and will continue to help during the dance. It's not difficult to do and after all, the aim is to have fun.

Hot Punch is a band based in Preston, Lancashire. Some members of the band play for the Royal Preston Morris Dancers and have played for morris or barn dance bands for longer than anyone cares to admit. We have our own caller, but if you want to organise your own then that's fine. We will provide the necessary PA equipment for the event.

A venue for a barn dance could be a village or school hall, hotel, marquee or even a barn. Anywhere you have enough space to dance.
