On this site I will show you some of the radio controlled model boats I have built over the last few years including SunXXI, Conserver, Lotse, HMS Kelly and Tsekoa II. As well as building model boats I also belong to a local club – Brentwood Model Yacht and Power Boat Club. The club has its own lake, located near Mountnessing in Essex UK. We are very active sailing our boats in what we call free sailing and also in steering regatta competitions at our lake or travelling to other clubs' events including the UK National organisation (MPBA) annual steering competition. I build scale models. Scale models are scaled down versions of real ships and boats and the models are intended to be replicas of the full sized vessel. My scale models are Radio Controlled and operation on the water is intended to be true to the full sized vessel characteristics. Sailing is either for enjoyment of sailing or in competition with other models on a steering course where avoidance of collision with hazards and other models is the objective rather than speed. The Brentwood Model Yacht and Power Boat Club has a scale section dedicated for the scale part of our hobby.
