COMPETITION NEWS... BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS The British Championships will be held in June this year in Perth. The information we have is as follows: Host: Master Sutherland 8th Degree Individual Competition: June 2009 Venue: The Bell's Sports Centre, Perth Saturday 13 June 2009 10am Start Click here for a location of where the Sports Centre is. Hay Street, PERTH, PH1 5HS PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO TEAM EVENT FOR THIS COMPETITION BADGE TEST NIGHTS... These are normally held on the last week of every month or the first week of every month if we are running a little late. We would like to make everyone aware that obtaining all the required badges does not necessarily mean the student is ready for the next available grading. Badges are set to promote each of the fundemental exercises and/or movements within each of the grades. Each student can therefore achieve each badge in series but then has to learn to put all of these elements together. Some of the younger students relate getting all of their badges with being ready for a grading. In some cases this is true, especially during the early stages of TaeKwon-Do. However, the higher the grade, the more there is to learn, and there may not be a badge for every component that is examined. So please be aware that even though a student might have all their badges, there might still be a bit of work to do in other areas before they are at the required grading level. |
