The Group meets monthly in
St Albans,
throughout autumn, winter and spring, for talks and presentations from
well-known speakers on matters related to the use and cultivation of hardy
perennial plants and closely related subjects. These meetings usually feature a
plants sales table and always tea and delicious cakes.

Throughout the summer months excursions are arranged to gardens and nurseries
of special interest; also a number of tea or drinks parties are held in the
gardens of members. Workshops and demonstrations are an occasional feature of
the programme.

The Herts Group holds a massive fund-raising sale of plants, propagated by
members, each May at our usual
meeting place
in St
Albans .

Plans
are in place for the Group to exhibit at some major gardening shows in future,
with the objective of fostering greater interest in hardy plants.
