John BENNETT
manager October - November 2000

Had a good reputation for success with several local clubs, including Dagenham & Redbridge, Ford United and Braintree Town, but also for not sticking around too long - even announcing his resignation from Aveley during a team talk before extra time. Left Barkingside to take over at Romford as part of the Micky Woodward rescue package, and seemed to be making good progress with what was left of Amin Levitt's squad and some new blood, but soon stepped down for family reasons. Next crossed Boro's path as assistant to John Doyle at Basildon United in 2004.
