Striker who had previously appeared against Boro for Barkingside, Basildon United and Brentwood Town, notching a hat-trick for Brentwood in February 2006. Came to Rush Green in the following close season and scored on his debut, following that with the winner from the penalty spot in the next match at Clapton. Was taken off penalties after confidently stroking one wide of the post in a League Cup match at Hullbridge Sports, but soon recovered to go well clear as top scorer and was into double figures before the end of October, before suffering fitness problems over the next couple of months and losing ground to Des Gallen and Petrit Elbi. Got a chance to re-establish himself when Elbi suffered a hamstring injury but couldn't find the net for all his efforts - having his fortunes summed up when Elbi returned to action after a month and scored within eleven minutes, from the rebound after Downer had hit the bar. Finally stopped the rot with an injury-time spectacular - as a substitute for Elbi, who inevitably had scored twice - to complete a 5-2 win over London APSA in March. Scored to keep Boro in the ultimately unsuccessful penalty shoot-out against Brentwood in the League Cup Final.
