assistant manager 1997-98
Was a player for Romford in the late 1960s, as centre-back and striker but only ever as a fringe member of the first team squad. Came to the re-formed club as youth team manager in 1996, and was asked by Les Whitton to be his assistant when Whitton took over as first team manager a year later. Was rarely able to be at Saturday matches due to his job at a betting shop. Went with Whitton to Barkingside and the pair remained frequent visitors to Sungate, both for Romford games and as regular drinkers. Died suddenly at Romford dog track in May 2003, at the age of 53.
