Joined the Club after being released by Southend United, on the recommendation of former youth team boss John Spicer. Ironically had been brought to Southend by Paul Withey, by now Romford manager. Settled in very quickly at Sungate, soon staking a claim for a regular place in midfield, and even lost his job because he had gone with the squad for a Sunday fixture at Staines Town. Missed a penalty against Ford United but did score one in the following pre-season against Dulwich Hamlet. Was invited by the P F A to take part in a beach soccer tournament in Marseilles during the 2001 close season. Drifted away after Paul Withey’s departure in September 2001 and joined Grays Athletic, but returned briefly in mid-season before turning out for Brentwood and for Hornchurch reserves.
