debut Leatherhead, Ryman League Division One 27.1.01
Came to the Club as player-coach having recently resigned as manager at Aveley. Provided part of a backbone of experience as Boro fought against relegation from Division One, but fitness problems restricted appearances towards the end of the season. Was diagnosed with testicular cancer but was successfully treated during the summer. Became player-manager early the following season after the departure of Paul Withey, but couldn’t prevent the side from finishing bottom of Division Two. Continued to make occasional appearances and scored the winning penalty in a shoot-out at East Thurrock United in the Essex Thames-side Trophy in October 2001, having only come on as sub a minute from the end. Managed the side with zero budget in the Essex Senior League for a season, finishing in fifth place before accepting an offer to return to the Ryman League with Tilbury.
