Nephew of Tony Adams who came to Boro as a striker from London APSA, shortly after Kelly Hughes had made the same move. Was the subject of some unnecessary controversy over his eligibility for the League Cup semi-final against Hornchurch, whose supporters believed he was cup-tied. The confusion probably lay in that his brother Adam had appeared in goal for APSA in the group stages, Danny not signing for them until after their group matches had finished, although it became irrelevant anyway (see entry for Chris Davies). Finally got off the mark with a late equaliser against Eton Manor at Tilbury. Was moved back into a central midfield role the following season with greater effectiveness, even notching what he believed to be his first-ever hat-trick to confirm Boro's passage into the League Cup quarter-finals. Headed the winner against his brother, now in goal for Basildon United, to put Romford through to the same stage in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy a week later, and notched against him again in a league match the following February. Made amends for being sent off for retaliation at London APSA by opening the scoring in a 2-1 win at Barkingside less than 48 hours later. Scored at the sudden-death stage in Boro's penalty shoot-out defeat to Brentwood Town in the League Cup Final.
