50th and last appearance Maldon Town, Essex Senior League 6.5.95

Centre-back whose quest to one day score a goal for Romford became legendary. Found the net in the Wally Ainsworth Trophy match at Purfleet against Rainham Town, but that doesn't really count even if he did buy crisps all round after the game (and had to, er, 'persuade' Shaun Adams not to claim it). Lost his place to the very raw John Paul Kent, and was badly injured in his comeback match at Concord Rangers. Made odd appearances in 1994-95 including the last couple of games in Lyndon Lynch's reign as manager. Played for a while with his head shaved, in honour of his daughter who was undergoing chemotherapy. Once claimed to have scored a hat-trick of own goals while playing for Beckton United. Son Danny made Club history in 2005 by becoming the first player to follow in his father's footsteps by playing for the Mk III Romford.
