Tram Locomotive

Now updated to accommodate the new Essel coupled chassis. Kit requires 220mm Essel chassis at £65 RTR. Requires 8AA batteries or 10AA for manual speed controlled version.

This freelance wooden narrow gauge tram engine comes as either ready to run or body kit plus chassis. The body kit consists of 4 plywood carriers onto which the pre-cut and pre-scribed mahogany sections are glued. The pre-formed aluminium roof is made removable for easy access to the battery compartment. White metal detailing parts and resin cowcatchers are included.
The sturdy and powerful Essel Coupled Chassis has a high quality motor and internal 30:1 gearbox with a bevelled gear drive.
8 AA rechargable NiCad or NiMh batteries (not included) give approx. 3 hours running time. Our manual speed control unit may be fitted in which case 10AA batteries are required. Ready to run version includes Brandbright RSA45 Couplings, Kit requires couplings.

For use with our Tram Kit, pre-wired with battery clip input and bare wire output for motor. Will control up to 1.6 Amps with thermal cut-out and input/output protection. Provides constant voltage control to give smooth running even at slow speeds. The unit requires 10xAA NiCad cells when used in the Tram. Includes on-off-reversing switch and rotary speed control.
