Rose Seber BA Hons Fine art Rock Climbing and Mountain Art |

Although some of my work is pure landscape - usually Icelandic or Scottish, I have also based a lot of work on rock climbing. As well as the geological aspect, this also includes studies of climbing figures, especially hands, climbing equipment and some of the more amusing entries in the climbing guides. Since October 2007 I have been working in the Print Room at the City and Guilds of London Art School and have created and have made a series of soft ground etchings based mainly on British mountain scenery. After touring Iceland's North Western Fiords in a camper van in June 2010 I have been making a series of etchings and stone lithographs based on that area. I had three prints accepted for the Society of Graphic fine Art annual exhibition in October 2010, and one, 'Barbed wire 2' won the 'Highly Commended Print' award. I also had two accepted for the same exhibition in 2011. In September 2011 I visited Spitsbergen on a sailing ship, and my latest work is suggested by glaciers, fiords and icebergs.
