Local Places to Eat There are several places to eat within the local area of La Fosca, whether you want a quick snack at the beach or a 3 course evening meal in a air conditioned restaurant its all within a short walk along the beach front at La Fosca. The towns and vilages around La Fosca have lots of good restaurants to visit. The restaurants listed below are those that have been visited by my wife and myself and found to be clean, reasonably priced and convenient, you should know that neither of us are connoisseurs of "good food" and generally prefer plain and simple food. For this reason I suggest that you always ask for and read the menu before sitting down.

EL PLA This out of town restaurant is easy to get to and is only a 3 minute drive from the Royal apartments. There's a large car park out front, outside dinning and a children's play area. The menu of the day (week days only) is generally very good value and includes for wine or water or a soft drink. Directions Leave La Fosca by the back road, go pass Kings Camping and down to the roundabout Following the sign to Palafugell turn right on to the main road between Palafrugell and Palamos. Go pass the Champion Supermarket on the left and EL PLA is on the right hand side before you meet the next roundabout.

Vostra Llar This Hotel restaurant is in the middle of Palamos. It has a walled courtyard on to which the restaurant is open on warm evenings. The menu of the day (week days only) is mostly based on fish dishes and includes for wine or water. Directions Park your car and make you way to the beach front promenade. From the fountain at the town end of the promenade walk into the town away from the beach and port area. At the first set of traffic lights turn left, continue walking until you reach a small square on your left side. The Vostra Llar is on your right, across the road from the square.

Mas Oliver Converted from an old farm house this restaurant is on a large plot of land on the outskirts of Pallafrugell. The inside is decorated with antiques, there's a children's climbing frame and swing in the grounds as well as plenty of parking space. Directions Leave La Fosca by the back road, go pass Kings Camping and down to the roundabout Following the sign to Palafugell turn right on to the main road between Palafrugell and Palamos. After passing through Mont-Ras, take the GE654 and just before entering the Centre of Palafrugell follow the signs to Llafranc/Tamariu. This route takes you around the outskirts of Palafrugell, having passed through traffic lights at a double junction, you will find Mas Oliver is on your left side. If you reach another roundabout then you have missed the restaurant.

La Salsa This restaurant is positioned in the center of Palamos. More intimate than the other restaurants listed, the food is presented as A La Carte. Not really suitable for very young children. Directions Park your car and make your way to the beach front promenade. From the fountain at the town end of the promenade walk into the town away from the beach and port area. Take the first turning left (before the traffic lights), continue walking pass a small square on your right side and the bus station on your left. The La Salsa is on your right side approximately five buildings further along from the square.

Monica More Spanish pub than restaurant Monica is good place for a quick meal at a reasonable price. There is generally a very lively atmosphere here with several video screens running continuously. This is also the place you will find the Spanish football fans when there's a televised international football match. Directions Park your car and make your way to the beach front promenade. From the fountain at the town end of the promenade walk into the town away from the beach and port area. Monica's is on the right hand side at the junction with traffic lights.

Fish This restaurant is positioned on the front line in Palamos looking out to the beach and promenade. Owned by the same company that owns the other restaurants listed, EL PLA, Vostra Llar, and La Salsa. We have not visited this restaurant. Directions Park your car and make your way to the beach front promenade. From the fountain at the town end of the promenade walk away from the town towards San Antonio. The Fish is on your right side approximately five blocks along from the fountain.
