One of the last batch of 'Large Atlantics' built (No. 251 the first in 1902, ultimately having a class total of 84 including variants) Photographed on the 'down' Queen of Scots Pullman (Kings Cross - Leeds) standing at Platfom 3 of Peterborough North Station probably replacing a failed 'Pacfic' as this working was relinquished by 'Atlantics' in 1937 and normally ran non-stop through Peterborough. In 1936 no less than 20 'Large Atlantics were allocated to New England (Peterborough) M.P.D.
