".......... The picture of 48323 in your LMS 1960's section is taken at Rose Grove, Burnley.
The loco was allocated to the shed, (10F) from around Dec 1966 until withdrawn in June 1968. It was stored at Rose Grove until November 1968 when it was taken to Drapers of Hull and scrapped in December 1968.
From the piles of coal in the foreground I would guess that the picture dates from around June 1968 onwards when coal was emptied from tenders after the locos had been withdrawn."
